Well I fell behind in the photo a day challenge and gave up. Surprise surprise!
Saturday, my friend Karen and I went swimming. It was good to have girl time. I mostly hang out with my guy friends, all of my girl friends are either married or they don’t live here… I had been needing girl time!
I put sunscreen on THREE times, Karen can back that up… I don’t know how this happened.
Really?!?! My poor pale skin.
A couple of months ago my Iphone broke and I wasn’t up for an upgrade, a friend let me borrow his until I could get a new one. I ended up getting the Samsung Galaxy S4. I.LOVE.IT!!!! I posted on Facebook asking if I should get the iphone 5 or the Galaxy. Almost everyone commented back saying Iphone. I am SO glad I didn’t listen to them! I think people are just afraid of change, something new. They are all on the iphone bandwagon and afraid to switch. I’m glad I switched to an android! The camera is SO much better on the galaxy, my pictures on the iphone were always really grainy and I hated that!
Still going strong on eating healthier. I’m down 7lbs. I haven’t had a coke since May 5th!! I’ve only had fast food maybe 2 or 3 times since then.
I did cheat the other day and got a Taco Villa burrito… I used to eat Taco Villa at least twice a week ( a lot of times it would be more!) so that’s pretty good!
Well that’s all I have for now. I will be taking a lot more pictures now that I have a better phone with a better camera!
Day 4: After Dark
I am determined to stick with this photo challenge this month! So far so good.
If only I could say the same thing for the Shred….. I just can’t get motivated to get off my butt and do it. Although, I watched Extreme weight loss lastnight and that always gets me motivated but it was too late by the time I got done watching it. This girl lastnight started out weighing 314lbs (she was 400lbs at her heaviest but lost 100lbs on her own), at the end she weighed 155lbs! Wow! Talk about inspiring! I know I don’t have anywhere near that much to lose, I just want to lose 10-15 lbs and get in shape. If she can do it so can I! I’m thinking of joining a gym.
I’m still eating healthy. I made a porkchop and asparagus for dinner lastnight, I still haven’t had a coke…. although the other day I told my sister I wanted a Cherry Limeade and she brought me one from Sonic and it did not agree with me! No more of those for me! That’s just proof that I don’t need any of that in my body.

I’m not too far into it yet but so far so good! I love her books! The thing with her books though is, she usually writes series. I don’t like series, I like stand alone books. This is the first stand alone book she has written in awhile so I’m excited to get further into it!
Saturday evening, Kayla, Sherilyn and I helped mom plant her garden. We planted 16 tomato plants (we are going to have a TON of tomatoes), okra, corn, squash, zucchini and cucumbers. Mom had already planted collard greens peppers a couple of weeks ago. We are going to have a great garden this year (if the storm lastnight didn’t mess it up). I’m excited, we will be getting fresh (FREE!) vegetables! I hate spending a lot of money on produce. Eating healthy sure is expensive!

Who knew you could have so much fun planting a garden? When us girls get together we are always laughing and having fun no matter what we are doing.
Yesterday after lunch with the family, I went to Zach’s house and we went fishing. We didn’t have as good of luck as last time. Zach caught 1 fish and I didn’t catch anything, but hey, I remembered to wear sunscreen this time!
While we were there there were 3 boys that weren’t too far from us. I’m going to guess they were about 12-14years old. One of the boys was trying to be “cool” in front of his friends. Every other word out of his mouth was a cuss word. His mother must be so proud. I heard one of the boys say “hey watch your language” but that didn’t stop him. At one point we heard him say to his friend “You wouldn’t understand because you aren’t a redneck like me” HAHAHAHA. Zach and I just looked at each other and laughed.
I haven’t done the Shred since Thursday night. AUGH! I’m such a slacker. I WILL do it every day this week. I have to. I want to get in shape! You can’t get in shape just sitting on the couch and watching Dr. Phil! (I LOVE Dr. Phil!).
My goals for this week are :
1. Do the Shred everyday
2. Drink more water
3. Try to go to sleep at a decent time (that’s hard because I’m a night owl and when I go to bed early I lay there for HOURS!)
4. Take more pictures! This has nothing to do with getting healthy, I just haven’t taken very many pictures lately!

I did 3 days in a row of the 30 Day Shred and It hasn’t been too bad. Day 2 was the worst. I didn’t do the shred yesterday, I know I know, I should have. I took before pictures and I’m anxious to see what the after pictures look like compared to the before! I’m pretty proud of myself for actually sticking with this new diet. I’ve tried quitting cokes before, I’ve tried eating healthy before and it normally only lasted for about a week (if that). It has almost been 4 weeks!!!! I weighed myself at my parents house yesterday and I’ve lost 5lbs so far. Woot!!!
One of my favorite things to do is look up hashtags on Instagram. I like looking up #weightlossbeforeandafter or stuff like that. It really helps to motivate me! I also like to look up #cleaneating and other stuff to get ideas.
I’m at work today and I didn’t bring anything for my lunch so I ordered a Beach Club Unwich from Jimmy Johns.
It was pretty good!
Oh yeah, it was mine. Yesterday I had the bright idea that we should do Jillian Michaels’s 30 Day Shred. I have tried doing it before and only lasted about a week. That week was pure hell. I lived on the 2nd story at the time and could hardly get down the stairs. Yesterday, I looked up before and after pictures and really felt motivated. I told my sisters that I thought I was going to try it again. Lastnight I cooked dinner (a pork chop and steamed broccoli again) and relaxed for a bit. I watched the season Premiere of Extreme Weight Loss and got totally motivated. They say watching Hoarders motivates you to clean your house, well watching Extreme weight Loss or the Biggest Loser will motivate you to get moving. I changed clothes, did before pictures and then sat on the couch….trying to get the courage to start the 30 Day Shred because I knew what I was getting myself into. I finally got up and did it. I was drenched in sweat and already sore by the time I was done, but I did it.
This time doing the 30 Day Shred, I am living in an apartment that has stairs INSIDE. My bathroom and bedroom are upstairs. I put on Facebook lastnight that I was just going to have to fall down the stairs because I didn’t see how I was going to be able to walk down them in the morning. I feel pretty good today, my thighs are a little sore. I know tomorrow is going to be 10 times worse after I do the Shred today. It’s OK though, it’ll all be worth it. I used to have a six pack, I used to be in really good shape, I can be there again and I WILL be there again 🙂
Since eating healthier I’ve only lost about 4lbs but I am already feeling better. I’ve cut out a lot of dairy (which is good since I am Lactose Intolerant) and Sodas. I haven’t had a soda in over 3 weeks. I’m pretty proud of myself!
I’ll report back tomrorow and let y’all know how I’m feeling after doing the 30 Day Shred tonight 🙂 I might need someone to drag me out of bed in the morning.

My family and I are doing a weight loss challenge from now until Christmas Eve(that’s a long time!). I’ve been doing pretty good on it! I haven’t had a single coke in 2 weeks. I’ve been drinking lots of water and unsweet tea. I’ve lost 4lbs so far in 2 weeks. I need to start working out but I figure eating healthy is a good start for now. Baby steps right? I have walked around the park by my apartment, it is almost a mile around. 2 days in a row I walked it twice around each day, I need to do that more often.
I’ve been eating healthier also. In the 2 weeks I’ve been doing this I’ve only had Taco Villa once and I felt extremely guilty after I ate a bean & cheese burrito without the red sauce, it’s only like 198 calories but I still felt guilty.
I’ve been eating a lot of salads, chicken, tuna etc. The other night I made a pork chop and steamed broccoli. It was really good! I need some new ideas and recipes for lunches & dinners so I don’t get burnt out eating the same things. I need a personal chef. That’d make my life a lot easier! Ha! Tonight I’m going to make another pork chop and I’m going to try baking the broccoli this time. It should be pretty yummy! At least I hope it is. I’ll try to remember to take a picture and post it.
